is a floating spring unit which gives movement throughout the whole piece of furniture and also takes the weight. ( Think of a pocket sprung bed and mattress as opposed to a slatted base bed where the mattress takes all of the weight.

only has movement at the front and therefore the cushion takes all of the weight and will flatten a lot quicker.

a lot of manufacturers use a good quality cushion on a zig zag spring to try and compensate. Our cushions are all made to a specified weight and then we have them wrapped with Dacron to give a more invited look, rather than a square slab of foam look.

Fibre back cushions...

Ours are pocketed in three sections so that they cannot sag. Fibre backs or feathers are the only two options we use as these give maximum comfort. Most manufacturers use the same filling but to different densities. We tend to over fill our cushions to make sure that they will last… as in time it is natural for them to lose density.
